About Course

An Agronomist works to improve and conserve the quality and productivity of plantations and livestock, as well as agro-industrial products. The Agronomist takes care of the planning, coordination and execution of activities related to all stages of an agribusiness. As he is well acquainted with cultivation and breeding techniques, he can work at any stage of the production chain – from planting to harvesting, from raising animals to slaughtering, and also in the processing and sale of agricultural products. It monitors soil preparation, combats pests and diseases and controls the harvest, storage and distribution of the crop. The mission of the Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy at the Federal University of Cariri (UFCA) is to train an Agronomist with maximum qualification for the world of work, promoting the integration of agricultural scientific knowledge, aimed at sustainable development, and capable of promoting advances in conditions environmental, economic, political and social by adopting ethical conduct and attitudes.
