International Office actions during the Covid-19 prevention period

During these challenging times, the International Office (SCI) has been committed to keeping its mission of promoting and managing internationalization at UFCA.

Administrative services

Staff members of the International Office are working remotely, to keep the administrative routines going, and providing services to the community by email and social media.

Students who are studying abroad

The International Office has contacted the two students of UFCA who are studying abroad (through programs managed by SCI), to check their status and their intention/possibility of return to Brazil. Only one students decided to return to Brazil and SCI is monitoring them. This SCI is in touch with students who decided to stay abroad, available to support them whenever possible.

In addition, the International Office is in contact with our partner institutions to constantly access the scenario, in order to decide about the calls that are open for future possibilities for mobility. Information on this subject is being constantly updated in our website.

International students at UFCA

the International Office has contacted the 31 international students, from PEC-G Program, who are currently studying at the School of Medicine campus of UFCA (Barbalha), in order to keep them informed about the current situation and recommendations for our region. This International Office has created Facebook and Whatsapp groups for international students and provided an email (international@ufca.edu.br) for emergencies. Until now, 10 students decided to return to her country (Cabo Verde and Paraguay).

Cooperation agreements

the International Office continues with the procedures related to cooperation agreements, which are being processed in digital systems, and contacting our international partners to notify them about the situation in Brazil.

Internationalization at Home

During the suspension of in-person activities, the SCI team was involved in translating the curricular components of the undergraduate and graduate courses in order to implement the international relations system module, translating more than 5,300 components into English, Spanish and French. This translation will allow the system to automatically generate the academic records of students was in international mobility.

The International Office is trying to notify all members of the academic community about its activities, as well as external audiences, by updating its website in Portuguese and English, and by sending notifications to our international partners.

The SCI team is sure that, although Covid-19 has created great limitations, we will leave this situation behind (stronger than ever) and we will continue with our project of a public university (for free), with high quality, known at the national and international levels, with the integration of teaching, research and services, for the good of society.
