About Course

The Veterinarian, with generalist and humanist training, develops skills in the areas of Agricultural Sciences and Health Sciences, with a focus on the sectors of Animal Production and Reproduction, Food Production and Inspection, Animal Health, Animal Medicine and Surgery, Biotechnology , Public Health, Agribusiness and Environmental Protection. From the point of view of the importance and participation of the Veterinarian in Public Health, it is worth mentioning the publication in the DOU (Section 1, pages 48 to 55) of the Ordinance of the Ministry of Health no. Basic”, and places the Veterinarian in the Family Health Support Center – NASF 1 and 2, officially participating in Primary Care in Brazil. With training based on the concept of “One Health”, the Veterinarian will work in the communities performing various administrative, research, teaching and education functions, with actions to promote and protect health, prompt care, cure and rehabilitation, contributing to the organization of the health care model and, consequently, for the improvement of the quality of life of man and animals.
