The research groups of the Universidade Federal do Cariri (UFCA) are part of the Directory of Research Groups in Brazil, linked to the National Counsel of Technological and Scientific Development (CNPq), and actively contribute to scientific and technological research at the University, in the region and in the national and international scientific communities.

The research groups induce the creation and expansion of lines of research and expertise related to the fields of science, technology and art. In them there is an environment for studies, analysis and further exchanges among students and researchers, who have the opportunity for a greater exchange of knowledge and establishment of academic and professional contacts. The actions, projects and research programs are coordinated by the Dean of Research, Postgraduate and Innovation (Pró-Reitoria de Pesquisa, Pós Graduação e Inovação – PRPI).
